Other Hospice Services

Hospice Provides:
  • Medications for symptoms related to the terminal illness
  • Equipment needed for home care (hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, etc.)
  • Personal care supplies (diapers, under-pads, etc.)
  • Therapy - speech, physical, occupational and dietary
  • Respite Care - hospitalization of the patient to provide relief for the caregiver
  • Continuous Care - provided during times of crisis

Admission Guidelines

  • The patient has a terminal illness.
  • The patient and family desire Hospice care.
  • The patient and family understand the treatment is not curative. Hospice provides symptom relief and pain control.
  • A physician has agreed that Hospice care is appropriate.

Bereavement Care

The Hospice team will continue to stay in contact with the family for at least one year after the death of their loved one to provide on-going emotional and grief support.

Hospice Referrals

Anyone can make a referral to hospice for a family member or someone they know who needs care. After the referral, the patient's physician will be contacted to verify the patient is suitable for hospice care and a medical evaluation will be performed by a hospice staff member.
